Terms of service

1. Purpose of the service
FuelLog.ch (hereinafter "Fuel Log" or "the Service") is a free web application for tracking vehicles, fuel fill-ups and maintenance. The Service is developed and operated by DSTec, a sole proprietorship based in Switzerland.
The Service is hosted in Switzerland by Infomaniak (Geneva) and is accessible via www.fuellog.ch.
These Terms of Service (hereinafter "Terms") govern access to and use of the Service. By using Fuel Log, you fully accept these Terms.
2. Registration and account
Registration for the Service requires a valid email address, a first name and a last name. Users must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
The user is responsible for the confidentiality of their password and for all activity carried out under their account. They undertake to notify DSTec immediately of any unauthorised use of their account.
Only one account per person is permitted. Creating multiple accounts in order to circumvent Service limitations is prohibited.
3. Acceptable use
The Service is intended for personal vehicle tracking. Users agree to:
- Use the Service solely for tracking their personal or family vehicles
- Not use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
- Not attempt to compromise the security or operation of the Service
- Not publish illegal, offensive or immoral content
- Not impersonate another person
DSTec reserves the right to suspend or delete any account in violation of these rules, with or without notice depending on the severity of the infringement.
4. User content
The user retains full ownership of all data they enter into the Service (vehicles, fill-ups, maintenance, mileage, etc.).
By using the Service, the user grants DSTec a limited licence to process, store and display this data solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. This licence terminates upon account deletion.
The user is responsible for the accuracy of the data they enter. DSTec does not verify or guarantee the accuracy of data provided by users.
5. Intellectual property
The Fuel Log brand, source code, design, texts and all visual elements of the Service are the exclusive property of DSTec and are protected by Swiss and international copyright law.
The Service uses third-party components under their respective licences, including:
- Bootstrap - under MIT licence
- Font Awesome - under Font Awesome Free licence
Any unauthorised reproduction, distribution or use of the Service's elements is strictly prohibited without the prior written consent of DSTec.
6. Free version and Supporter
Fuel Log is offered free of charge with all essential features. The free version includes the display of advertisements via Google AdSense.
Users who wish to may make a voluntary donation to become a Supporter. Supporter status provides:
- Ad-free browsing
- Access to additional features
- A distinctive badge on the profile
Donations are voluntary and non-refundable. Supporter status is granted as a gesture of thanks and does not constitute a subscription.
7. Limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, either express or implied.
DSTec shall not be held liable for:
- Any loss of data, regardless of cause
- Any interruption of the Service, whether temporary or prolonged
- Any calculation errors (consumption, costs, statistics)
- Any indirect damage resulting from the use or inability to use the Service
In any event, DSTec's total liability is limited to the amount of donations made by the user during the previous 12 months.
8. Service availability
DSTec endeavours to keep the Service available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on a best-effort basis.
However, the Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:
- Planned or emergency maintenance operations
- Service updates
- Technical failures of the hosting provider or network
- Force majeure events
No Service Level Agreement (SLA) is provided. DSTec shall not be held liable for the consequences of any Service unavailability.
9. Termination
By the user: The user may delete their account at any time from their profile settings. Deletion results in the permanent and irreversible removal of all data associated with the account (vehicles, fill-ups, maintenance, statistics).
By DSTec: DSTec reserves the right to terminate or suspend an account in the event of a breach of these Terms. Except in cases of serious violation, reasonable notice will be given to the user to allow them to export their data.
In the event of permanent discontinuation of the Service, DSTec undertakes to inform users with at least 30 days' notice and to allow them to export their data.
10. Changes to the Terms
DSTec reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
In the event of significant changes, users will be notified by email or by a notification within the application.
Continued use of the Service after the publication of changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If the user does not accept the changes, they may delete their account.
11. Applicable law
These Terms are governed by Swiss law.
Any dispute relating to the interpretation or performance of these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the canton in which DSTec is domiciled, subject to applicable mandatory consumer protection provisions.
